Moving my blog to my own web site

I was browsing my friends' blogs and came across this guy named Lewis, who is a friend of my friend Joel. Shortly into reading his blog I realized that his blog was hosted on his own website, by means of a tool named WordPress. I found it rather interesting since I am also using another tool called Gallery to host my own online photo album. So I decided to give it a try and installed it on my web server. Installation turned out to be surprisingly fast and easy. And being open source means that there are a plethora of themes developed by all these talented and unselfish professionals for me to choose from. I browsed all the themes I could find on the web and picked the one I thought was the most stylish of all.

Thanks to Joel, and thanks to your friend Lewis. Please come by and read my new blog!

I will be posting on my new blog from now on. My old blog on blogger will be left untouched but I probably won't be updating it anymore.

Have a good one!

The Biggest Day of My Life

Today is the biggest day of my life. I have been doing house hunting for the past month and a half. I finally set my eyes on this nice little town house in the city of Arcadia. The seller was a retired White couple. They were home when I went with my agent to look at the house and we talked for almost an hour. I was very much amazed at how well they have been keeping this property up for the 18 years they have lived there. The unit was built in 1977 but it looks much nicer and well maintained than the ones I have seen that were built in the 1980s. It has two stories, just like most town houses, has two master suites with a separate bathroom in each. It has an attached two-car garage, a patio on the lower level, and a balcony on the upper level. Living room is located on the upper level, with high ceiling and a fireplace. I took some pictures when I did my home inspection a few weeks ago. They are available on my website: http://www.kenlei.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=1589.

Everything went by like snapping my fingers. To summarize what I have done in the past month, I: [went to look at the property][looked at other properties][went back to look at it again][made an offer][got a counter offer][made a counter offer][offer got accepted][paid my deposit][opened escrow][shopped for loans][got approved for my loan][home inspection][turmite report][appraisal of the house][got my 401k loan][sold my mutual funds][sold my stocks][consolidated my assets][paid escrow fees and closing costs][signed escrow and loan documents][YES! I SIGNED MY LIFE AWAY][final walkthrough][closing escrow] ... ... all these were done in less than a month!! and I will be moving in next week!!

Bush vs Tehran

Our brilliant president, George W. Bush, stirred by Tehran's disclosure earlier this week that it had successfully enriched uranium in concentrations capable of running a nuclear power plant, has announced a possible air attack on Iran, one of the two remaining countries he termed Evil Axis. So what is our country going to do next? Deploy another 5000 soldiers to take out Iran's nuclear facilities? Will that not get our country into another full scale war? Or simply fire hundreds of Tomahawk Missiles at their nuclear plants and let the resulting radioactivity cleanse its own population? And next on our agenda, comes the only remaining nation of the Evil Axis, North Korea.
